FLAPJACK
Ingredients
  1. Flapjack
  2. 300g Butter or Margarine
  3. 100g Demerera Sugar
  4. 50g Muscovado Dark Brown Sugar
  5. 150g Golden Syrup
  6. 450g Porridge Oats
Instructions
  1. Melt the butter, sugar and syrup together in a pan, add the oats, then press into a greased tin and bake at 180oC until golden brown (20 – 25 mins).
Adaptations
  1. Ginger - Add a little (half a teaspoon) of groung ginger and crystalised ginger.
  2. Apricot & Almond or Cherry & Almond - Add ground almonds to the flapjack, then add chopped dried apricots or glacé cherries
  3. Chocolate Dipped - Melt dark chocolate and dip the corners of the flapjack.
  4. Richer Flapjack - Substitute some of the golden syrup for treacle.
